Vamperifica Premiers at Screamfest

Sound Designed and mixed by Matthew at SoundSpace and James Redding III at Digital Cinema, Vamperifica opens to the public at Screamfest 2011. Dreadcentral posted a review, "In a day and age when you think you've seen it all in terms of vampire flicks (they sparkle, they kill, they brood, they screw, they feed- we get it), along comes a little indie movie that shows that there's always something new to do to mix things up a bit with the genre..."

Kings of Leon at Tribeca; Great Review.

Kings of Leon Documentary, Talihina Sky premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in April, and gets amazing reviews. From MTV review, "it strips away everything you've probably read about them, and, in the process, provides the clearest glimpse to date into what makes them tick. In that regard, the film is not only a success, but one of the most compelling music documentaries you'll ever see." Preservation Hall Premiers at SXSW

The latest Danny Clinch feature-length documentary, Live at Preservation Hall: Louisiana Fairytale, premiered at SXSW this month.  Featuring My Morning Jacket and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the film honors the music, soul, and culture from the New Orleans area and this landmark performance hall.  Mixed by Matthew Polis @ SoundSpace.

New Network, New Show

Oprah's new network OWN began life in Januray 2011.  One of its premiere shows, Master Class was mixed by Matthew Polis at Outpost Digital.  Matthew mixed the Dianne Sawer episode which kicked off the season as episode #1.  Radial Media produced the series which also includes episodes featuring Jay-Z, Lorene Michaels, Sidney Poitier and others.

A.W.O.L. Selected for Sundance

Director Deb Shoval's short, A.W.O.L. was selected for this year's shorts program at The Sundance Film Festival.  Mixed by Matthew at SoundSpace last year, the Film made it's Sundance Debut in 2010.

David Blaine Specials Premiere on Travel Channel

Two new David Blane television specials, Discover Magic and Beautiful Struggle premiere on the Travel Channel this month.  Both were sound designed and mixed by Matthew Polis at Outpost Digital.  Produced by Radical Media and directed by David Blaine himself, the two shows re-create David's entire career as both a street magician and a human endurance record holder.

Bionics - The First Bionic Eye

Photographer/filmmaker Max Aguilera-Hellweg produced a video piece for National Geographic that accompanies their magazine feature on Bionics.  The video, mixed at SoundSpace, tells the story of "Jo Ann Lewis recapturing a vestig of the vision the she lost 60 years ago". Video

Push Button House Snagged

Following a successful 16-festival run, Push Button House, a documentary by Robert Profusek and Ryan Silbert, obtained distribution by SnagFilms, Babelgum and IndiePix.  The film, mixed at SoundSpace, showcases the work of artist Adam Kalkin as he premiers the Illy sponsored project at the Time Warner Center in Manhattan.

Danny Clinch's Latest Previews New Pearl Jam Album

Skatopia Sells out at Acefest

Skatopia, which was mixed at by Matthew Polis at SoundSpace in July Premiered at Acefest 2009 and sold out two screening rooms.  The well attended screenings were followed by a party featuring bands from the film.

Off and Running at Tribeca

Nicole Opper's second documentary feature will be premiering in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. The film was also chosen to be followed by NBC for a special that will air on network television.  The NBC crew stopped by SoundSpace to document the film in its final stages of post production.  

Peter and Vandy Premieres at Sundance

The film, directed by Jay DiPietro and staring Jason Ritter, Jess Weixler, Jesse L. Martin, Tracie Thoms, and Noah Bean, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and was also nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. Since then, the film as had had a great festival run, screening at GenArt film festival in New York, the AFI Dallas Film Festival and others. The film was sound designed at SoundSpace and mixed at DIGit Audio.

Willimam's Christening Sweeps NYU Craft Awards

Josh Hume's film, William's Christening, wins a total of seven craft awards and was a Wasserman/King Finalist at NYU's annual film festival this year.  Among those was Best Achievment in Sound Design, awarded to Matthew Polis (sound design) and Jodi Levine (mix).

Nowhere Kids Lands Tribeca Premiere

Following the success of their feature documentary, Off the Grid, the team at Still Point Pictures created this short narrative based on some of the stories and characters they followed.  Intended to show a taste of the feature-length version to follow, the short was selected to screen in competition at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

Sordid Things heads to Boston

After a successful sound design and mix at SoundSpace, Sordid Things heads up to the Boston International Film Festival for its world premiere.  The film stars  Alex Burns, Alex Kingston, James McCaffrey, Nicole Vicius (II), Piper Perabo and is directed by first-time director, Andrew Bloomenthal.
